This issue has been around for a while - I cannot place its starting point in relation to any OS update (or upgrade for that matter.) It is not a world shattering one either and I can continue to live with it. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has noticed it, and, you would only notice if you had Push Notifications for your incoming mail!
So, what is it?
When I "wake" my iPod touch the first thing I do, after looking at the various "buttons" to see how many "updates" there are in Twitter, App Updates, etc, is to head to my mail inbox. By the time I get there I will usually receive a notification pop-up telling me about the last arriving email. On opening the inbox the latest emails start to download. I watch the summary waiting for the progress bar and alert to tell me all mail has downloaded. About 50% of the time the last email, for which I had earlier received a pop-up notification, appears in the email summary and as the alert sounds it disappears! If I now click on the refresh button (arrow) it will download and stay as it should have the first time!
I guess without the Push Notification I would never have known about this last arriving email behaviour (unless I saw it flash up and disappear) because it would later appear on an auto or manual refresh anyway.
So to satisfy my curiosity, does anyone else see this peculiar behaviour?
